Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM

About the Role

Capstone have partnered with a leading, international Real Estate Consultancy, who are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic Building Engineering Services team. You will be working alongside industry-leading professionals, advising global clients across the full property lifecycle. This role provides the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of commercial properties, delivering innovative mechanical engineering solutions.


Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Design & Engineering

•Design of mechanical building services to RIBA Stage 3 and beyond

•Develop technical specifications and oversee project execution

•Carry out technical due diligence, feasibility studies, and pre-acquisition surveys

•Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, CDM regulations, and sustainability standards

Project Management & Consultancy

•Lead and manage mechanical projects, from conception to completion

•Provide landlord and tenant advisory services, including dilapidations and lease negotiations

•Conduct defect analysis, building pathology assessments, and energy efficiency evaluations

•Assist with contract administration, primarily under JCT contracts

Business Development & Client Engagement

•Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors

•Identify new business opportunities and contribute to the team’s revenue growth

•Attend industry events and represent the company professionally

Collaboration & Teamwork

•Work closely with multidisciplinary teams across different projects

•Support junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team

•Liaise with external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery


What We’re Looking For

Qualifications & Experience

•Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

•Chartered or Incorporated status (CIBSE, IET, IMechE) or working towards it

•5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering consultancy within commercial property

•Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, sustainability standards, and compliance frameworks


Technical Skills

•Proficiency in Hevacomp, AutoCAD (preferred), Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and NBS Specification Writer

•Familiarity with JCT contracts and facilities management principles (desirable)
