Role Overview

A proactive and hands-on HR Generalist / Recruiter & HR Advisor is required to support a growing network of stores in the Netherlands (approximately 30 employees). This role is essential in delivering the people agenda and ensuring best-in-class HR practices while maintaining alignment with the UK HR team.


Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for all hiring and onboarding activities.
  • Managing the end-to-end candidate journey using the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Understanding current and future talent needs, proactively identifying and attracting top talent.
  • Developing and implementing recruitment strategies to support business growth.
  • Driving candidate engagement through job boards, advertising, and innovative sourcing strategies.
  • Screening candidates and assisting hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
  • Ensuring a seamless onboarding process, including coordination of equipment and system access.


HR Support & Administration

  • Acting as the first point of contact for all HR queries in the Netherlands, escalating cases to the Head of HR as required.
  • Maintaining and updating HR Information Systems (HRIS), ensuring accuracy and GDPR compliance.
  • Preparing HR documentation, including offer letters, contracts, amendments, and references.
  • Monitoring and processing new starters, leavers, holiday records, and absences.
  • Generating and distributing HR reports and management information as required.
  • Supporting general HR administration, ensuring efficient record-keeping and compliance.
  • Conducting regular on-site visits to build relationships with employees and support business needs.
  • Reviewing and enhancing existing HR systems and processes to improve functionality and efficiency.
  • Attending meetings in stores as required, providing HR support and note-taking.


Experience & Skills Required

  • Education & Experience: Relevant HR qualification with a solid foundation in HR best practices. Proven experience in HR administration, recruitment, or a generalist HR role.
  • Recruitment Expertise: Hands-on experience managing full recruitment lifecycles, from sourcing to onboarding.
  • Proactivity & Independence: Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
  • Confidentiality & Professionalism: Ability to handle sensitive HR matters with discretion.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • IT & System Proficiency: Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to multitask, prioritise workload, and ensure accuracy in all HR processes.
  • People-Centric Approach: Passionate about fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English (essential); Dutch proficiency highly beneficial.


Working Environment

  • Hybrid working model, split between the Utrecht office and home, with regular visits to stores across the Netherlands.
  • Strong field presence is essential to build relationships, support employees, and understand business needs.
