Capstone partnered with a leading international investor & developer in the residential sector in their search to appoint a Senior Development Manager to play a pivotal role in a well-capitalised expansion into the UK Build-To-Rent sector. The investor is one of the best capitalised BTR investors in the UK and is currently expanding their ambitious and motivated team to grow their presence in the UK rapidly.

About the Role:

As the Senior Development Manager, you will take a leadership position in designing, shaping, and controlling all aspects related to the fund's property development activities. This role presents an exciting opportunity to play a major role in creating one of the largest Build-to-Rent (BTR) portfolios in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Head of UK & Development Director to grow a BTR platform with over £800m of capital secured from institutional investors for immediate deployment into development projects.
• Overseeing development projects ranging from 250 to 500 BTR units in London and key UK regional cities.
• Collaborate with the investment team in the preparation of development appraisals and financial models to assess viability of new opportunities.
• Lead technical due diligence on all new development projects, coordinating contract documents with the legal team.
• Oversee development forward-funding and joint venture partners, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in line with required standards.
• Manage direct development projects at the procurement and post-contract stages including the management of professional teams and external stakeholders.
• Lead the implementation of an ambitious sustainability strategy.
• Assist with the development of the internal processes, BTR product, technical standards, and standardised Employer's Requirements documentation.

Requirements:

• Degree in Surveying/Property/Construction/Architecture or relevant qualifications/experience.
• 10+ years of experience and a strong track record in managing similar residential development projects.
• Proven project management experience, including overseeing the entire life cycle of development and construction processes.
• Knowledge of building regulations, Building Safety Act, technical building specifications, planning requirements, procurement processes, construction methodology and programming, and development budgeting and cashflow forecasting.
• Experience in institutional BTR forward-funding and direct-development projects is advantageous.
