Capstone are working in partnership with CEA CAPA in search of a highly experienced and outstanding Property Director to provide visionary leadership in managing, developing, and optimising the organisation's student accommodation and property portfolio.

This unique role encompasses strategy, operations, and capital projects, ensuring alignment with organisational goals, stakeholder needs, and financial sustainability. The role entails being a key representative on related matters, fostering partnerships internally and externally, and driving excellence in service delivery.

CEA CAPA is a recognised sector leader in delivering high-quality study abroad programs and international internship opportunities for students, known for their delivery of impactful academic, professional and cultural experiences. This is achieved through their dedicated global team who provide comprehensive guidance and resources to maximise the benefit of their students' time abroad.

About you:

  • A starter finisher, with the ability to pivot between strategy and operational delivery.
  • The ability to horizon scan, pre-empting issues by devising risk mitigation strategies.
  • Highly analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends to inform strategic decisions, setting the course for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Lazer focused with the ability to identify and prioritise high impact initiatives.
  • Able to build credible, effective and enduring relationships by astutely identifying individual motivators, with the ability to influence a diverse stakeholder group.
  • Inter-culturally fluent, and able to adapt and nuance communication styles dependent on the audience.
  • A vocal advocate for innovation and continuous improvement having had experience in leading large-scale programs of change.
  • Outcomes orientated, with the ability to conceptualise novel solutions to longstanding challenges.
  • Adept in multi-jurisdictional regulatory frameworks with demonstrable success in leading and managing large-scale complex property portfolios globally.
  • Expertise in delivering major capital programs and overseeing multi-functional teams.
  • A broad understanding of demand planning, procurement methodologies, as well as contract and vendor management, linked to integrated supply chain.
  • An extensive track record in strategic planning, change management, and developing and implementing innovative solutions.
  • Significant experience in financial, human, and physical resource management, delivering efficiency and service excellence. Ideally having worked in sectors such as education, mixed use developments or social infrastructure.

About the role:

  • Develop and oversee long-term asset management strategies, such as operational efficiency and a sustainable supply of student accommodation.
  • Serve as the principal advisor on property matters to senior leadership, ensuring robust governance, compliance, and innovation.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and governance of major capital projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Oversee the management and maintenance of diverse and complex estates that meet operational and stakeholder requirements.
  • Ensure robust policies and procedures for the effective management of property, minimising reliance on external consultants where possible.
  • Develop and implement technology to enhance operational efficiency, service quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain relationships with global stakeholders, including regional leaders, real estate agents, public sector bodies, local authorities, community organisations, and external contractors.
  • Cultivate relationships with our institutional relations team to devise an approach geared towards managing both partner and student expectations related to property.
  • Represent the organisation in industry forums, ensuring a proactive stance on sector developments and innovation.
  • Manage significant financial resources, including operating budgets and planned capital expenditure programs.
  • Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance in all activities, particularly health and safety, business continuity, and risk management.
  • Create a Centre of Excellence that provides thought leadership, coaching and or direction as needed to local teams.
