Job Title: Business Rates Surveyor

Location: West Midlands (remote/hybrid options available)

Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum

Company Overview:

A leading consultancy specialising in innovation funding and tax relief, the company has grown rapidly since its incorporation in 2020. Now recognized as one of the top providers in the industry, the firm is headquartered in the City of London, with a staff of over 90 people and significant investment in its Property Tax division. Due to this continued growth, the company is seeking a specialist Business Rates Surveyor to join the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored business rates appeal and mitigation advice to major clients across various sectors within commercial real estate.
• Manage a client portfolio, largely consisting of clients in the Midlands and North, while working closely with the in-house business development team to support new business growth.
• Develop and maintain strong business relationships with both new and existing clients.
• Advise developer and landlord clients throughout the property development cycle, including areas such as deletion/RV appeals, completion notices, and mitigation strategies.
• Prepare and submit documents for tribunal cases.

Experience Required:

• 2+ years' experience in Business Rates surveying.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of rating legislation and case law.
• Proven experience in providing rating advice and negotiating appeals.
• Solid general surveying and property inspection skills.
• MRICS qualification is desirable but not essential.
