Position: Manager, Technical Development (Estates)

Are you an experienced professional with a solid background in building contract management and refurbishments? SEGRO is looking for a Manager in their Technical Development Estates department, to play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating building-related projects across their diverse property portfolio. You will be instrumental in delivering high-quality estate and property works while ensuring you meet SEGRO's sustainability and budgetary goals.
About the Opportunity:
Project Management: Lead the planning and execution of estate and property projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Risk Mitigation: Protect the business from potential risks, including cost uncertainties and project delays, while ensuring all legal and technical requirements are met.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including Asset Managers and Customer Teams, to support and enhance our property portfolio across the UK.
Refurbishments and Dilapidations: Manage refurbishment programs and dilapidation claims, ensuring premises are presented in optimal condition for re-letting or modification to accommodate customer needs.
Sustainability Focus: Champion SEGRO's Responsible framework by coordinating projects that promote low-carbon growth and adhere to our environmental standards.
Supplier and Contractor Management: Oversee the selection and management of third-party suppliers and contractors, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and to specification.
About You:
Professional Expertise: You ideally hold a professional qualification (RICS, CIOB, or equivalent) with significant experience in refurbishments, dilapidations, and building contract management.
Project Management Skills: You have a proven track record of delivering projects on budget and on time, with experience in financial reporting and budget management.
Technical Knowledge: Your technical understanding of building regulations, health and safety, and construction defects is comprehensive, enabling you to provide sound technical advice.
Customer Focus: You excel in communication, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and internal teams, keeping all stakeholders informed throughout project lifecycles.
Organizational Abilities: You are highly organized, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, and maintaining accurate records.
