Role Summary

The Project Management Group is integrated into each project team and provides essential project delivery support, ensuring the successful completion of world-class architectural projects. PMG works closely with in-house architectural and multi-disciplinary design teams to manage project complexities and maintain the highest standards of quality, change management, cost control, and risk mitigation using industry-leading project management methodologies.

The Project Manager will play a critical role in delivering aviation and stadia projects by ensuring that project requirements are met through effective management of project deliverables, contractual obligations, and communication with clients and stakeholders. This role requires advanced project management skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while navigating complex challenges within a high-profile, fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

  • Review and Analyse RFPs: Evaluate Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for new opportunities, ensuring project teams fully understand and address all requirements.
  • Support Fee Proposals: Collaborate with project teams, legal teams, bid managers, and commercial managers to contribute to fee proposals and prepare comprehensive RFP responses.
  • Project Cost Forecasting: Liaise with resource planners and commercial managers to establish accurate project cost forecasts by identifying programmed, contractual, and deliverable obligations.
  • Fee and Appointment Review: Assess fee calculations, project appointments, and variations/additional services to ensure alignment with project goals and financial parameters.
  • Client and Stakeholder Communication: Communicate promptly and professionally with clients, project teams, and other relevant stakeholders, maintaining alignment and ensuring smooth project progression.
  • Contract Administration and Risk Mitigation: Advise project teams on contract obligations and administration, assisting with identifying, mitigating, and resolving potential contractual issues.
  • Invoice and Payment Management: Work closely with project accountants to submit timely invoices and follow up on payments, while also managing invoicing and payments for sub-consultants.
  • Project Documentation and Reporting: Prepare, update, and communicate key project documents, including project plans, detailed design programmes, change control processes, and design risk registers.
  • Compliance and Standards: Maintain a thorough understanding of, and compliance with, company procedures and standards, ensuring best practices are consistently applied.
  • Regular Reporting: Provide regular updates to the assigned line manager, ensuring clear and concise reporting on project progress and challenges.
  • Sub-Consultant Procurement: Assist with the procurement and management of sub-consultants, ensuring alignment with project timelines and objectives.

Qualities and Skills Required

  • Relevant Qualifications: Degree or equivalent qualification in project management, architecture, construction, or a related field.
  • Industry Experience: Demonstrable experience in the design consultancy or construction industry, with a strong understanding of architectural and design management processes.
  • Advanced Project and Design Management: Proven experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders, including contract administration, change management, and risk mitigation.
  • Organisational and Time Management Skills: Highly organised with excellent time management abilities, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Methodical, accurate, and thorough, with strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and diplomatic approach to liaising with clients, project teams, and stakeholders.
  • Proactive and Solution-Oriented: Demonstrated initiative, innovation, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
