Role Summary

The Project Management Group is embedded within multidisciplinary project teams and plays a pivotal role in supporting the architectural and specialist design teams in delivering successful, world-class projects. PMG contributes by ensuring that projects meet client objectives while maintaining the highest standards of quality, cost control, and timely delivery.

This role, focusing on aviation and stadia projects, requires an individual with strong project management acumen, excellent organisational skills, and a collaborative approach to working with diverse teams.


Responsibilities

  • Assist the PMG and BID teams in reviewing Requests for Proposals for new project opportunities, identifying key requirements, and ensuring that responses align with client expectations.
  • Collaborate with resource planners and commercial managers to develop accurate cost forecasts, based on a detailed understanding of project deliverables and programme requirements.
  • Work closely with architectural and specialist design teams to assess and coordinate resourcing needs, ensuring appropriate allocation and cost management.
  • Support PMG and Legal teams in identifying and addressing contractual obligations and requirements associated with project appointments.
  • Assist PMG and Project Accountants by tracking invoicing and payments from clients, ensuring prompt follow-up on outstanding payments and supporting the payment processes for sub-consultants.
  • Update and maintain key project documentation, including project plans, design programmes, design change registers, and design risk registers.
  • Maintain and monitor a Request for Information (RFI) register, ensuring timely responses and tracking actions effectively.
  • Develop and manage a Permitting Schedule in collaboration with Local Architects and the PMG team, identifying critical submission and approval milestones.
  • Facilitate effective communication across all project team members, including architects, specialist consultants, and external sub-consultants.
  • Create project reports, graphics, and diagrams to effectively communicate project procedures and team organisation.
  • Ensure adherence to company procedures and quality standards, maintaining an awareness of compliance requirements throughout project delivery.
  • Provide regular updates to the assigned line manager, maintaining clear and concise reporting on project progress and issues.


Qualities and Skills Required

  • Relevant qualifications in project management, architecture, construction, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of project and design management principles.
  • Familiarity with the architectural design process and the ability to work collaboratively with design teams.
  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks and prioritising effectively.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional and diplomatic manner.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented with a willingness to take initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Resilient and adaptable to changing project demands while maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Commitment to delivering commercially successful projects and fostering strong client relationships.
  • Legally eligible to work in the UK.
