Barbara Welch is a director at Mace with over 25 years of experience in consultancy, construction management, and business leadership. Starting as a graduate civil engineer in 1997, she has delivered projects across the UK and internationally in retail, residential, rail, and education sectors. Her global career has taken her to Asia, Russia, and beyond, where she established new operations and led Mace’s Western Europe and Global Clients businesses.
A dedicated advocate for inclusion and diversity, Barbara actively supports the next generation of talent through initiatives like the Royal Academy of Engineering Leadership Scheme and the Mentoring Circle. Her work has earned her recognition, including the Outstanding Woman in Construction Award and a place on Cranfield School of Management’s ‘Women to Watch’ list.
